School of Education alumni continue to hold leadership roles at all levels of education, providing culturally responsive leadership in enhancing student learning and experiences.
Lisa Milano ’84 is the new principal of St. Mary School in Canandaigua, NY. She has worked in public and private schools across New York State, teaching several elementary grades, leading literacy professional development, and coordinating academic intervention programs. She received her bachelor’s degree in inclusion program from the School of Education.
“I’ve done many things in my career and I’ve worn a lot of hats, and I feel like all of those experiences that I’ve had to this point have led me to be here at St. Mary’s,” Milano said.
Meghan Miller G’11 has been named Dean of the Syracuse Academy of Science Elementary Charter School. She has been teaching at the school since completing her master’s degree in literacy education from Syracuse University. Syracuse Academy of Science Charter was founded in 2003 as a middle grades school and has been serving K-12 students since 2010.
Norman Faiola G’94 has been named Dean of the College of Business at Franklin Pierce University. FPU recently reorganized their academic programs under four new colleges, and Faiola brings his entrepreneurial experience most recently as the Dean of the newly-formed School of Business and Hospitality at SUNY Morrisville. He has also held leadership positions at LeMoyne College, Purdue University Calmut, and Syracuse University. He received his Ph.D. in higher education from the School of Education in 1994.
