Qualifications for Participating

Bachelor’s and master’s degree candidates who plan to complete their coursework by August 2019 are invited to participate in the 2019 Commencement ceremonies. Under extenuating circumstances, candidates who do not meet this requirement may petition their home college(s) for permission to participate. Completing the “File Diploma Request” process on MySlice activates the procedure for certification and awarding of a degree. It is the student’s responsibility to know and fulfill all degree requirements for graduation. Participation in Convocation and Commencement ceremonies does not indicate that degree requirements have been completed. For questions regarding eligibility in the School of Education, please contact the Office of Academic and Student Services.

Graduation Photos

Island Photography provides photo coverage of School of Education convocation, and takes pictures of each graduate in their cap and gown and as they cross the stage. You will provide your contact information on the day of the event in order to receive your photos; you may also sign up ahead of time to receive a link to the School of Education photo gallery. There is absolutely no obligation to purchase any photos.

Syracuse University Commencement, the all-University ceremony, will be held on Sunday, May 12 in the Carrier Dome.
