You can find the most recent information on 2023 Commencement Weekend activities, including the School of Education’s Convocation, on the Syracuse University Commencement website.
Candidates who plan to complete their coursework by August 2023 are invited to participate in the 2022 commencement activities. Students must complete the “File Diploma Request” on MySlice to start the process of certifying and awarding a degree, and ensure that they know and fulfill all degree requirements for graduation. Under special circumstance, students who do not meet this requirement may petition the School of Education for permission to participate. Participation in Convocation and Commencement ceremonies does not indicate that degree requirements have been completed. For questions regarding eligibility in the School of Education, please contact the Office of Academic and Student Services.
All degree candidates participating in Convocation and Commencement are required to wear academic dress (caps and gowns). The Syracuse University Campus Store coordinates cap and gown distribution.
Beginning May 1, undergraduate graduation candidates can visit the Campus Store to pick up their gap and gown. Graduate (Master’s, C.A.S. and doctoral) regalia is available for purchase now.
Syracuse University Commencement is the all-University graduation ceremony and will be held on Sunday, May 14, 2023. Tickets are not required and there is currently no limit to the number of guests per graduate, but this is subject to change. COVID testing/vaccination requirements and health protocols may change as we get closer to commencement weekend.
