The Syracuse University School of Education prepares you to inspire young people, promote physical activity, and impact policy. You will take classes in your major starting in your first semester, and in many cases start field experiences in your first year. On-campus training laboratories, research facilities, volunteer opportunities, and engaged faculty who are leaders in their fields give you a chance to build your professional portfolio throughout your time at Syracuse.
All majors except for Selected Studies in Education meet the academic requirements for at least one New York State initial teacher certification.
A minor gives you a chance to explore a new area or something you love, without committing to a full undergraduate major. Minors in the School of Education can complement studies in any other field by providing a background in education, disability, physical activity, and more!
The School of Education is not currently accepting applications for the following programs: Arts Education (PreK-Grade 12); Physical Education/Health and Physical Education (PreK-Grade 12); Inclusive Early Childhood Special Education (Birth-Grade 2); Spanish Education (Grades 7-12).
