Admissions Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, including a minimum of 12 credits of social sciences.
  • The Advanced Standing M.S.W. requires a bachelor’s degree in social work.
  • Official transcript of all undergraduate and graduate study.
  • A personal essay (500 words) describing your professional goals, future professional plans, and academic interests.
  • 3 letters of recommendation, at least one from a faculty member.
  • A résumé or CV.
  • GRE is not required.

Financial Support

  • The Genovese Scholars Program provides a tuition scholarship and a community of scholars to high achieving, passionate, and dedicated students.
  • All students have opportunities to receive financial aid and scholarships from the School of Social Work. No separate funding application is required. Loan repayment programs for graduates entering public service include: federal (PSLF) and NYS (OMH, LSWLF, and BH4NYC).
