Educational Leadership, Ed.D.

Admissions Deadline: March 22 (for fall semester start). Applicants should ensure that all of the required materials are submitted by that date.

Admissions Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and master’s degree.
  • Most students have a C.A.S. in educational leadership, including certification as a school building or district leader.
  • Leadership experience in the field of education.
  • Official transcript of all undergraduate and graduate study
  • Professional or academic writing sample
  • 3 letters of recommendation
  • Personal Statement (500-1000 words) about your interest in this program, including:
    • A statement of your core beliefs about educational leadership in relation to issues of equity,
    • Why you are interested in this doctorate,
    • Possible areas or ideas for your own research. These are not set in stone but emerging ideas, and can include (but are not limited to) areas of your work that keep you up at night, issues that are central to who you are as a leader, tensions you see as pressing in your experience, emerging directions of leadership, etc.
    • Your future plans after you have earned your doctorate.
    • How you plan to finance your studies.
