The fifth annual Scholars of Distinction showcase was hosted by the Syracuse University School of Education on Feb. 18, 2022, presented by TRIO Student Support Services and the Higher Education Opportunity Program, both part of SOE‘s Center for Academic Achievement and Student Development.
Fifteen HEOP and SSS student scholars volunteered their time to create poster presentations that described their significant experiences, which are centered around campus involvement; community service and civic engagement; research; study abroad; design, creativity, and the arts; internships and summer jobs; social justice and activism; and various other topics.
“The Scholars of Distinction event is a resource that showcases the accomplishments of HEOP and SSS students and by doing so, it inspires others, in particular the first and second year HEOP and SSS student populations,“ says Craig Tucker, Director of HEOP.
