Admissions Requirements
Bachelor’s degree and a cumulative undergraduate GPA of at least 3.0
An science content area major or a 30-credit major equivalent determined via transcript review:
Biology certification: Biology major OR coursework in organismic biology; genetics/molecular/cell biology; and population biology/ecology
Chemistry certification: Chemistry major OR coursework in inorganic, organic, analytical, and ohysical chemistry (including engineering)
Earth Science certification: Earth Science or Geology Major OR coursework in earth history; paleontology; mineralogy; structural geology; hydrology; and glacial geology. Coursework may also include geology; meteorology; or astronomy
Physics certification: Physics major OR coursework in mechanics; electricity; thermodynamics; modern physics such as relativity, kinetic theory, and quantum theory. Coursework may also include optics; circuits; or particle physics.

A personal essay describing the candidate’s beliefs about student learning, commitment to diversity, enthusiasm for learning, willingness to foster collaboration, and ethics
