Applications for this doctoral program will open on October 15.
Admissions Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mathematics or equivalent (at least 30 credits of undergraduate mathematics from the calculus level up)
- Master’s degree required in mathematics, mathematics education, or a related field
- The equivalent of two years of teaching experience at the K-16 level
- Official transcript of all undergraduate and graduate study
- Personal statement, including a discussion of your research
- Professional/academic writing sample
- Resume or CV
- 3 letters of recommendation
- GRE is optional (not required)
- TOEFL or IELTS scores (international students)
We expect students to have earned a master’s degree in mathematics, mathematics education, or a related field prior to being admitted to the doctoral program. Syracuse University offers these degree programs. We generally do not admit students who do not have teaching experience.
