Educational Technology, CAS

The certificate of advanced study in Educational Technology provides students with a foundation in how both instructors and students use instructional systems, learning environments, and performance technologies.

This program helps teachers, trainers, and other professional practitioners design and provide effective instruction with the use of educational technologies, both in-person and on digital learning platforms. Roles in digital instruction, human performance evaluation, and educational technologies are some of the fastest growing in the United States. Through hands-on projects and collaborative work, you’ll develop skills to design, create, implement, and evaluate technology-supported instruction for a variety of educational and professional settings.

Many of our CAS students complete this program part time while also working, and find an immediate benefit to their jobs and careers from this specialized program. Graduates work in business, healthcare, media, higher education, social services, nonprofit, and government areas as technology coordinators, instructional designers, and training staff and managers. Some courses in the CAS can also be transferred into a future M.S. or Ph.D. in Instructional Design, Development and Evaluation.

NOTE: The CAS in Educational Technology is not currently accepting applications. However, you can still contact us about admission in future semesters.
