Designing Digital Instruction, CAS

The certificate of advanced study in Designing Digital Instruction helps professionals advance their knowledge in designing instructional materials specifically for digital learning platforms.

A growing number of professionals across industries are being asked to develop training and professional development programs, without a lot of background in designing effective instruction. Roles in digital instruction, human performance evaluation, and educational technologies are some of the fastest growing in the United States. This program provides an introduction to instructional design and digital learning techniques needed to provide this kind of instruction in any field.

All classes in this program are fully online, providing an opportunity to engage domestic and global learners while providing a 360-degree view (instructor, designer, and learner) of the digital instruction setting while you learn.

Many of our CAS students complete this program part time while also working, and find an immediate benefit to their jobs and careers from this specialized program. Graduates work in business, healthcare, media, higher education, social services, nonprofit, and government areas as instructional designers, curriculum specialists, and training supports. Some courses in the CAS can also be transferred into a future M.S. or Ph.D. in Instructional Design, Development and Evaluation.
