Alexandra Gantt-Howrey is an assistant professor of counseling at the Syracuse University School of Education. She was previously an assistant professor at Idaho State University and New Mexico State University. A National Certified Counselor of the National Board for Certified Counselors, her areas include counselor preparation, social determinants of mental health, cognitive complexity, and rural mental health access.
Her scholarship has appeared in the Journal of Counselor Preparation and Supervision, Journal of Counseling and Development, Journal of LGBTQ Issues in Counseling, Counselor Education and Supervision, Journal of Technology in Counselor Education and Supervision, The Family Journal, and elsewhere.
Gantt-Howrey earned a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision (2022), an M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (2019), and a B.S. in Psychology, all from Old Dominion University.
