Alumni Highlights: New Appointments for Cantor, Lisi, Hayman, Austin

Ronald CantorRonald G. Cantor G’95 (cultural foundations of education) has been named provost and vice president of academic affairs at Cayuga Community College. Cantor has more than thirty-five years’ experience in higher education, including past roles as associate dean for liberal arts at Jefferson Community College and associate vice president at Mohawk Community College. He was also President of Southern Maine Community College for seven years.

Todd Lisi ’06 G’18 (physical education, educational leadership) is the new athletics director for Homer Central School District. He previously worked at his high school alma mater, Solvay UFSD, in numerous roles including assistant principal, physical education teacher, and football coach. The directorship is “the only thing that would ever have made me leave Solvay,” according to Lisi.

Josh Hayman ’15 (health and exercise science) has been named the new head coach of the Mercer University men’s and women’s cross country teams, and assistant coach to the track and field team. He previously coached at Louisburg college where he led them to 15th at the 2019 NJCAA Indoor National Championship. While at Syracuse, Hayman was on the 2015 NCAA Division I national championship cross country tea, and also had an All-Big East performance in the 4×800-meter relay at the 2013 Big East Championship.

Ann Austin G’78 (higher education) was named interim associate provost for faculty and academic staff development at Michigan State University. She was recently named a University Distinguished Professor of higher, adult and lifelong education at MSU, and will head the Academic Advancement Network.
