Syracuse University’s School of Education has been recognized as No. 55 for Best Education Graduate Schools by U.S. News & World Report for 2022. The school is ranked No. 14 among private universities and the school’s graduate programs in special education are ranked No. 26.
“I’m proud of our faculty and their work as leading scholars and teachers, and I’m proud of our programs in the School of Education,” says Joanna Masingila, dean of the School of Education. “Being ranked in the top 60 schools of education, and top 14 among private universities, is an indication of the excellence of our education community.”
The School of Education offers 19 master’s degree programs, 10 doctoral degree programs, and seven certificates of advanced study; 18 of our master’s and C.A.S. programs lead to New York State teacher certification. Graduate programs in special education include several master’s degrees in inclusive special education and a doctoral degree in special education.
The U.S. News & World Report bases rankings on two types of data: expert opinions about program excellence and statistical indicators that measure the quality of a school’s faculty, research and students. This year’s surveys were conducted in fall 2020 and early 2021. Statistical data includes an education school’s research activity, the academic excellence of their entering students, and their faculty resources.
