The Department of Instructional Design, Development and Evaluation (IDD&E) offers dynamic graduate programs that prepare effective practitioners and respected researchers in the broad domain of instructional systems and educational technology.
IDD&E consistently ranks among the top programs in the country, demonstrates excellence in research and development, consultation, service, and education, and enjoys a diversity of students and graduates from over 50 countries.
We are at the forefront of contemporary research in the instructional sciences, with projects supported by the NASA, the National Science Foundation, the U.S. Department of Education, the NY State Education Department, and more. Our faculty members are highly collaborative and respected in their fields, holding leadership positions in national and international professional associations including the Association for Educational Communications & Technology, American Evaluation Association, and American Educational Research Association.
Recent work includes projects in China, Thailand, Singapore, South Korea, and India. The department also has strong working relationships and valued adjunct faculty from Syracuse University units including Project Advance, the Office of Institutional Research and Assessment, and the Office of Professional Research & Development, in which IDD&E students gain essential experience and advanced professional practice.
