Inclusive Special Education (Grades 1-6), M.S.

Suggested Admissions Deadline: January 15 (summer semester start). Applications are considered on a rolling basis outside of this deadline.

While a summer start is highly recommended, students can also apply to start in the spring (deadline: October 1) or fall (deadline: January 15) semesters.

Admissions Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Official transcript of all undergraduate and graduate study
  • A personal essay describing the candidate’s beliefs about student learning, commitment to diversity, enthusiasm for learning, willingness to foster collaboration and ethics
  • 3 letters of recommendation from professors and/or employers
  • Resume or CV
  • GRE not required (optional)
  • An earned or expected to be earned NYS initial certification in Childhood Education (Grades 1-6)

  • Project IMPRESS aims to recruit, prepare, and retain culturally and linguistically diverse future special educators to work in high-needs settings. The program provides up to 100% tuition scholarships in a supportive cohort experience.
