Admissions Requirements
Bachelor’s degree and a cumulative undergraduate GPA of at least 3.0
Official transcript of all undergraduate and graduate study
A personal essay describing the candidate’s beliefs about student learning, commitment to diversity, enthusiasm for learning, willingness to foster collaboration, and ethics
Prior experiences working with children
3 Letters of recommendation from professors and/or employers
Resume or CV
GRE not required (optional)
Applicants with or without NYS teacher certification may apply; however, applicants must have NO existing Students with Disabilities (Birth-Grade 2) certification.
In addition to the 50% tuition scholarship, scholarships through the Burgoyne-Burt Scholarship Fund also are available. All program applicants will be considered.
Federal Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education (TEACH Grant) provides grants to students who intend to teach in an elementary or secondary school that serves students from low-income families.
Paid Teaching Assistant and Aide positions are available for students in many of our partner community agencies, schools, and preschool programs.
