The School Counseling master’s program requires 60 graduate credits. Most students complete the program full-time in 2 years (including two summers), although careful planning with an advisor can allow for part-time study while working, although the program must be completed within 7 years.
Students will take courses in various forms and venues of counseling, human development, and counseling specifically in a school setting. You’ll also choose specialty electives in close collaboration with your advisors, tailored to your personal and professional interests in areas like counseling leadership, college and career counseling, substance abuse, and more. Field experience includes a 100 hour practicum and a 600 hour internship across elementary/middle and high school levels.
