The Clinical Mental Health Counseling master’s program requires 60 credits. Most students complete the program full-time in 2 years (including summer), although careful planning with an advisor can allow for part-time study while working, although the program must be completed within 7 years. Classes are usually offered in the afternoons and evenings to work around practicums, internships, and other employment.
Students will take courses in various forms and venues of counseling, as well as studying foundations of counseling, ethics, theories, and applications. Unique coursework underlines the program’s commitment to multiculturalism and social justice. Other coursework areas include:
Students will complete at least 700 hours of supervised clinical experiences in a community setting as a part of this program, including 100 hours in a practicum experience and 600 hours on internships.
