Admissions Requirements
Bachelor’s degree and a cumulative undergraduate grade point average of at least 3.0
An undergraduate major in art, or a or minimum 30 credits of studio and/or design, art history, and contemporary arts survey courses; additional liberal arts and humanities courses (as determined by department transcript review)
Official transcript of all undergraduate and graduate study
A portfolio review (in person, digital, or emailed) of 12-20 images of original work, each captioned with the title, media, description, and date of work:

A personal essay describing the candidate’s beliefs about student learning, commitment to diversity, enthusiasm for learning, willingness to foster collaboration, and ethics
Letters of recommendation from professors and/or employers

GRE not required (optional)
TOEFL is required for applicants whose native language is other than English.
Applicants with or without existing NYS teacher certification may apply; however, applicants must have NO existing Visual Arts certification.
