Jill Christian-Lynch is an assistant teaching professor, who brings more than 40 years of real-world expertise in New York State public education to the Syracuse University School of Education.

Her work is centered on ensuring that both undergraduate and graduate students transition seamlessly from the university seminar to the K-12 classroom through high-quality field experiences and clinical practice.

Before entering higher education, Christian-Lynch spent more than a decade as a classroom teacher in the Whitney Point and Vernon-Verona-Sherrill central school districts, teaching kindergarten through grade 5. She also served as a curriculum specialist and Assistant Director for Madison-Oneida BOCES, where she led regional staff development initiatives for public school educators.

Since 2003, she has served as the coordinator for the Jamesville-DeWitt Central School District/ Syracuse University Teaching Center, a role dedicated to fostering collaborative professional development between the University and local school districts.

At Syracuse University, Christian-Lynch oversees the critical field practicum sequences that define the student experience. She has been instrumental in co-designing new curricula, such as EDU 215: Early Grades Content and Curriculum, which introduces students to NYS learning standards through the lens of universally designed lesson plans and coordinating field seminars for SOE’s inclusive childhood and adolescent undergraduate education programs, ensuring students receive mentorship that responds to the evolving needs of modern, diverse classrooms.

Christian-Lynch also represents Syracuse University on the New York State for Alliance, Learning, and Leading (NYSALL) Board of Directors and the NYS Teacher Center Statewide Leadership Team. Her academic background includes a Certificate of Advanced Study in Educational Administration and an M.S. in Elementary Education from SUNY-Cortland.
