Social Justice Minor

The Minor in Social Justice prepares students to engage with a broad range of communities while recognizing cultural and individual differences, in social work and similar settings.

Students explore topics in human rights and social, economic, and environmental justice and gain a grounded understanding the structures and differences found in human services and related fields. Courses provide knowledge and skills in service providing, social policy, and research and analysis, with a focus on ethical and professional behaviors required to best serve communities large and small.

Graduates engage in advocacy, policy development, and evaluation at the local, national and global level, while promoting civic engagement and lasting social change, in careers such as community organizer, rehabilitation counselor, sexual health coordinator, social worker, veterans support specialist, victim advocate, or youth counselor.
