Mentoring and cohort experiences across partner schools

There is an unprecedented shortage of special education teachers. To combat this, we are supporting the recruitment, retention, and development of doctoral scholars with the knowledge and critical consciousness to be effective and inclusive special education leaders.

Project IMMERSE (Inclusive, Multicultural, Multilingual, Effective, and Responsive Special Education) is a partnership among Syracuse University School of Education, University of New Mexico, and Rowan University. Scholars join a cohort of doctoral students and emerging leaders with commitment to, and expertise in, improving outcomes for students with disabilities and their families.
