InclusiveU student Christopher Catroppa ’22 will launch his new audiobook King Arthur and the Book of Corbenic on May 2, 2022, with production help from Sound Beat: Access Audio.
The launch party takes place from 2 to 3 p.m. in the Whitman School of Management Milton Room (Rm 411).
Catroppa’s tale begins with Arthur as a young king gazing into his own future towards a quest that will change everything he knows about life and love … This Access Audio production represents Catroppa’s year-long internship spent fully exploring the process of making audiobooks. The launch party also marks his graduation from the InclusiveU Program at the Lawrence B. Taishoff Center for Inclusive Higher Education, part of the School of Education’s Center on Disability and Inclusion.
Sound Beat Access Audio has collaborated with students, faculty, staff, and administrators across the University. An initiative of the Special Collections Research Center at the Syracuse University Libraries, Access Audio’s long-form projects include audio books, interviews, narrated journals, and documentary-style storytelling that highlight the experiences of Syracuse University community members.
Inclusive education and immersive student experience are at the forefront of Access Audio’s mission. To this end, Sound Beat closely partners with the InclusiveU program, which enables students of all ages with intellectual and developmental disabilities to experience Syracuse University life in a fully inclusive setting. Through Access Audio, InclusiveU students—such as Christopher Catroppa—become an integral part of the audio team in all aspects of production, working with SU Libraries staff to develop their research, writing, and editing skills.
