Additional Details

  • The scholarship is offered to eligible students in their admission packet from the Graduate School. Students matriculated beginning in the 2018-19 academic year who sign the letter of acceptance for the scholarship are automatically credited 25% of their tuition each semester of full-time study in their program.
  • Scholarships are awarded and credited to student bursar accounts typically within two weeks after the University financial deadline for dropping courses and before the first billing statement for that semester is sent out.
  • The value of the SOE Orange Family Scholarship is calculated based on the tuition for the total number of credit hours for which the student is registered minus the value of any outside scholarships/funding. The remaining tuition bill for which the student is responsible is then credited 25% of the student’s tuition.
  • The scholarship does not cover tuition for undergraduate courses even if required as a prerequisite condition of full admission into the master’s program.
  • Students are eligible for only one School of Education percentage scholarship. The High Needs Scholarship, SOE Graduate Tuition Scholarship for Syracuse University Alumni and the SOE Orange Family Scholarship cannot be combined. If a student is a Syracuse alumnus they will receive the Graduate Tuition Scholarship for Syracuse University alumni instead of the Orange Family or the High Needs Scholarship, even if the student is matriculated in a High Needs master’s degree program or is a child of a Syracuse University employee.
