Education: M.S.Ed Cultural Foundations of Education, Syracuse University
What are your research interests? Why?
My intellectual interests focus primarily on intersectionality and radical feminisms of color because I aim/desire to foster positive identity development and a sense of empowerment for young women of color from adolescence to adulthood.
Why did you choose Syracuse University?
I chose Syracuse University specifically the Cultural Foundations of Education program because the course offerings were robust, appealing, and interdisciplinary which I thought would help deepen my scholarly knowledge pertaining to questions of identity.
What other professional, TA, GA, or community activities are you involved in?
Currently, I am a graduate research assistant and adjunct professor in the Intergroup Dialogue Program through the School of Education. Also, for the last 10 years I have served on the board of The Image Initiative, a non profit that serves middle and high school girls of color in the Syracuse City School District.
