Exercise Science, M.S.

Admissions Requirements for the Exercise Science M.S.

• Bachelor’s degree and a cumulative undergraduate GPA of at least 3.0
• Official transcript of all undergraduate and graduate study
• Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores
• Personal Statement
• Resume or CV
• 3 letters of recommendation (preferably from faculty)
• Completed or expected to be completed academic prerequisites (can often be completed during the first year of the master’s program at department discretion):
  • 8 credit hours General Biology
  • 8 credit hours Human Anatomy and Physiology
  • 6 credit hours of Exercise Science (including Physiology of Exercise and General Science)

• While most Graduate Assistantships through the Department of Exercise Science are provided for doctoral students, some are available for master’s students. Please indicate your interest and need/desire for funding in your personal statement.

Deadline

Applications are considered on a rolling basis for all semester starts. However, we have a suggested deadline of January 15 for the fall semester of the same year. Applicants should ensure that all of the required materials are submitted by that date.
