Special Education Alumni Win AERA Dissertation Awards

Two graduates of the Special Education Ph.D. program received awards for their dissertations from American Educational Research Association special interest groups (SIGs).

Chelsea Tracy-Bronson G’18, Ph.D., received two Outstanding Dissertation Awards for her dissertation entitled “Inclusive Education in Practice: District-Level Special Education Administrators’ Leadership.” She received awards from both the Districts in Research and Reform SIG and the Leadership In Social Justice SIG.

Yosung Song G’18, Ph.D., received the Outstanding Dissertation Award from the Disability Studies in Education (SIG) for her dissertation, entitled “Understanding intersectionality of refugee Identity and dis/ability.”

These awards will be presented at the 2019 AERA Annual Meeting in April.
