High School, TELL Students Celebrate Diversity at “We Are Syracuse” Event

We Are Syracuse eventStudents and faculty from the Teaching English Language Learners M.S. program organized “We Are Syracuse,” a gallery-style event dedicated to celebrating the cultures of refugee students at Nottingham High School. Students from Nepal, Thailand, Cuba, Yemen, Liberia and Eritrea shared their experiences through written and spoken narratives, PowerPoint presentations, artwork and song.

This is the fifth year the School of Education has partnered with Nottingham for “We Are Syracuse” through the work of Lauren Cirulli G’10, ENL teacher at Nottingham High School, and associate professor Zaline Roy-Campbell.
