We are so excited to meet you. You are joining a close-knit School of Education community dedicated to helping you learn, grow, and thrive during your time at Syracuse. It all starts during Syracuse Welcome 2022, August 25-28. Syracuse Welcome

Syracuse University and the School of Education hold events to help new students get to know the campus and community. New Student Convocation and School of Education Dean’s Welcome are required for all new students, including students dually enrolled with SOE and Arts & Sciences, Falk, Maxwell, or Visual and Performing Arts. You should plan on attending as many other events as possible, to get to know the faculty, staff, students, resources, and school that will help you with your journey at Syracuse University.

This special academic ceremony marks the opening of the University and the beginning of new students’ careers at Syracuse University. Required for all new students; families are encouraged to attend in-person or virtually. Learn more

Meet the dean of the School of Education and your faculty, academic and peer advisors. Schedule your weekend advising appointment. Learn more about your program, your classes, and the School of Education! Required event for all new students, including dual students.

Mark Your Calendars – Welcome Back Picnic

Friday, September 9, 4-6 p.m.
Jacquet Commons, Huntington Hall
Join the School of Education for our annual Welcome Back Picnic! Food, face painting, giveaways, balloon twisting, fun prizes, and more.

For Families and Supporters

Be sure to join us at one of two SOE Parents/Guardian Meetings during Syracuse Welcome, where you’ll meet faculty and staff here to support your student and have a chance to ask questions about the experience. Choose to attend either:

  • Wednesday, August 24, 1-2:30 p.m. in Maxwell Hall Auditorium
  • Friday, August 26, 9-10:30 a.m. in Maxwell Hall Auditorium

You should also attend the New Families Orientation on August 25, and view the Syracuse Welcome events that parents, guardians, and supports can attend.
