Program Requirements

The Teaching and Curriculum master’s program requires 30 graduate credits. This program can be completed full time or part time while working, with the completion time varying depending on student program design.

You’ll partner with a faculty member in your concentration area to design a fully customized program of study, based on your specific interests, content areas, or research/teaching goals. All students will complete a research course, at least four courses from your certification area, and at least one course outside of your certification area. Other courses may be from across the department, the School of Education, and other schools and colleges at Syracuse University. Possible concentration areas include:

  • Instructional Design
  • Cultural Foundations of Education
  • Education Administration
  • Inclusive Education & Disability Rights
  • Special Education
  • Music Education
  • Mathematics Education
  • Clinical and Instructional Practice
  • Arts Education
  • Creative Leadership

You’ll cap off your degree experience with the compilation and presentation of a professional portfolio, and a master’s exam. More information on academic requirements available in the Syracuse University Course Catalog.
