Ashley Stone joined the Department of Higher Education as a Visiting Assistant Professor. While earning her Ph.D. at The University of Texas at Austin, she worked as a Senior Graduate Research Assistant and Coordinator for Service Learning for the Division of Diversity and Community Engagement at the university. Prior to returning to graduate school, Stone worked as the Director for New Student Services and Student Support at Southern Methodist University. Her first fulltime position in Student Affairs was as an Assistant Director for Student Access, Transition, and Success at Purdue University. She began her career in Multicultural Affairs while earning her master’s degree at Baylor University.
During her time at UT, Stone received the Bill Lasher Doctoral Student Excellence Award and School of Education Research Grant while earning her PhD at UT. She also served on the editorial board of Texas Education Review.She continues to serve on the membership committee for the Critical Race Studies in Education Association and has increased her involvement in the Association for the Study of Higher Education and the American Educational Research Association.
