How Leadership Can Transform Schools for All Learners

The School of Education's Annual Summer Leadership Institute's Registration, Keynotes and Feature Presentations will be held in the Joyce Hergenhan Auditorium in the beautiful, new, state-of-the-art Newhouse III on the SU Campus. Conveniently located close to the Schine Student Center and Syracuse University Sheraton Hotel and Conference Center, Newhouse III is the newest building on campus.  Please click here  for a Campus Map and below directions for parking on SU Campus for this important Institute. Parking Directions:

Upon entering the University Area Garage, please take a ticket from the machine. When exiting the garage, please give parking attendant the ticket and the program name "Summer Leadership Institute."

Anyone wishing to register after 4 p.m., Wednesday, July 15, will have to call the School of Education, 315-443-4696, to have their name placed on a waiting list.  Enrollment in the Annual Summer Leadership Institute is limited and it is now FULL due to the overwhelming response to the program.  If there are cancellations, we will contact waiting list individuals in the order requests have been received.

 

Who Should Attend

In the tradition of the School of Education at Syracuse University, this summer leadership institute promises to provide opportunities for practicing administrators and other school leaders to examine and gain the knowledge and skills necessary to create equitable, inclusive, and excellent schools. This institute will be most beneficial for principals, special education directors, curriculum directors, superintendents, assistant superintendents, aspiring teacher leaders, and educational leadership students. The School of Education urges leadership/administrative teams from schools and districts to take part together.
Enrollment is limited!

Registration

$490 p.p. for individual registration
$450 p.p. for teams of 3 or more from the same school/district/organization
Per person fee includes registration, institute materials, lunch on Day 1, breaks, and parking in the University Area Garage-corner of University Avenue and Adams Street. Please click here for directions.

Directions & Overnight Accommodations

The Institute's Feature Presentations and Keynotes will be held on Syracuse University Campus, in the Joyce Hergenhan Auditorium, Newhouse III. Please see above for directions to campus. Concurrent sessions will be split between the auditorium listed and 304ABC in the Schine Student Center. Please see below for locations for concurrent sessions

For those traveling from out of town, overnight accommodations are available at the Sheraton Syracuse University Hotel & Conference Center. Those interested should contact the Sheraton Syracuse University and identifying themselves as being with SU School of Education. The hotel can be reached at (800) 395-2105 or (315) 475-3000. All reservations must be made before July 11, 2009, 5:00 p.m. to guarantee availability and a discounted rate. The Hotel will accept reservations after the cut-off date, on a space available basis at the best available rate. The Sheraton has a free shuttle from the airport. Use the courtesy phone in the airport to request pick-up.

Participants who want to take the institute for graduate credit should contact Liza Rochelson, lrochels@syr.edu or 443-2505. with questions or for assistance registering. The institute will be extended to include August 13 and 14 for those taking it for credit. Additional readings, discussion, and individual projects will be part of these two days.
