What you need to know!
Our Distant Education Facility (056 HH) has a Polycom v4000 and is capable of connecting via IP (no $) or ISDN ($charge). This facility is also equipped with Dell computer with dvd/cd drive, hookup for usb, vhs/mini dv for playback or recording the session, document camera, student camera, teacher camera, and interactive smartboard.
If you plan to hold a conference here's what you need to do:
- Check with the other end to see if they have IP capablilites or ISDN
- Pick a date and reserve the facility through Groupwise or the School's Dean's office (x-4752) you will need to let them know the reason and if you are doing
- IP or ISDN (if using ISDN please give an account # to be charged)
- Decide who is initiating the call (get their numbers from the other end)
- What is the setup of the room (conference, auditorium, panel, one on one)
- Setup and perform a quick test conference just to test the audio and video
