Marcelle Haddix, Dean's Associate Professor & Department Chair, Reading and Language Arts, Syracuse University
Young people are increasingly dealing with violence and experiencing trauma in their everyday lives. Schools and communities must be prepared to help students deal with these lived realities. This presentation and discussion will highlight the experiences of young writers, teachers, parents, artists, and community members who partner together to cultivate spaces for authentic writing practices through the Writing Our Lives youth writing project for students in grades 6-12 in the greater Syracuse area.
CART service will be provided. Queries can be directed to Patrick W. Berry at firstname.lastname@example.org or 315-443-1912.
