Science Education:

The Department of Science Education at Syracuse University draws upon both the College of Arts & Sciences and the School of Education to provide excellent preservice and inservice science teacher preparation. The faculty is devoted to preparing outstanding science teachers at the elementary, secondary, and college levels; supervising students in the field; conducting enrichment programs for teachers and students; and guiding Ph.D. students.

The dual nature of the department gives students the opportunity to interact with field-specific researchers and School of Education faculty. In addition, there is a joint program with the State University of New York College of Environmental Science & Forestry as well as the Syracuse University Department of Exercise Science.

The program offers two paths of study:

Ph.D. in Science Education

Ph.D. in College Science Teaching
