Internship

An internship is an opportunity for an advanced graduate student to gain supervised, practical experience in an organization desiring assistance in using instructional technology. This experiential learning benefits the student by providing an opportunity to test personal theories and approaches to instructional technology as well as function as a member of the professional community in a working environment.
Students assist sponsors by helping conduct short-term projects that are consistent with the organizational goals. As a result, students learn to evaluate and examine (a) their knowledge, skills and values: (b) their ability to relate to others and work in teams; and (c) their personal and professional competencies.
The main objectives of internships are:

  • To provide the intern an opportunity to apply theories and approaches utilizing instructional technology to actual real world problems.
  • To acquaint students with the responsibilities and duties of professionals in their area of emphasis.
  • To provide real world, practical experience.
  • To assist sponsoring organizations in solving their human performance problems
