In addition to teaching courses, advising graduate students and continuing his own research, Keith DeRuisseau will be responsible for setting up an exercise biochemistry lab in The Institute for Sensory Research on SU’s South Campus. Before coming to Syracuse, DeRuisseau was a post-doctoral associate in the Department of Applied Physiology and Kinesiology in the University of Florida’s Center for Exercise Science. He earned his B.S. and M.S. degrees in exercise science from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and his Ph.D. degree in movement sciences from Florida State University.

Philip Doughty, associate professor and chair of instructional design, development, and evaluation, is a specialist in instructional technology. He directs projects, conducts seminars, and consults with private and public organizations on the cost-effectiveness of instructional and training interventions; planning and evaluation of instructional technology applications in schools, work settings, and support agencies; and development and management of training and performance technology solutions. His recent work has been done in collaboration with or sponsored by the U.S. Bureau of the Census, the U.S. Information Agency, BOCES organizations, local school districts, and international organizations in Thailand, Brazil, and Venezuela.

As Undergraduate Coordinator for Exercise Science, Donna is responsible for maintaining undergraduate records and curriculums, and assisting undergraduate advisors with their jobs. In addition, Donna is the Administrative Secretary for the department which means she pays the bills, coordinates the course schedule, helps in assigning graduate assistants, coordinates grants, and generally tries to make sure that things run on a semi-normal basis.
