Financial Aid

How will I pay for my education?

Numerous sources of financial support are available to Teaching and Leadership applicants.

  • We strongly advise all of our master’s applicants to apply for financial support, including federal loans and work study, through the Syracuse University Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships.
  • School of Education competitive scholarships are available for students in most graduate programs. The application process is separate from applying to the School of Education, and the deadline is typically January 15 for the following fall semester.
  • To apply for a graduate assistantship within the Teaching and Leadership Department, send an electronic letter of interest and resume to Jeanne Schmidt, Executive Assistant to the Chair of Teaching and Leadership at jmschmid@syr.edu.
  • If you graduated from any degree program at Syracuse University within the past five years, you may be eligible for the Graduate Student Tuition Scholarship, covering 25% of your tuition costs.
  • If you are pursuing a concurrent degree in a high-needs certification area you may be eligible for a reduction in tuition costs for BOTH programs through the High Needs Scholarship or TEACH Grant.
