Master of Science in Art Education Preparation
At Syracuse, we envision an art educational practice focused on creating opportunities for arts learners to become general practitioners of an art-base, socially responsible citizens and to critically engage in a world of competing visual meanings and ideas. The art education programs at Syracuse provide each graduate student with opportunities for growth as an artist, teacher and researcher through the development of their own arts practices and through the study of philosophical, cognitive, socio-cultural and political implications of the arts in society and education.
The Master's degree in art education preparation is designed to meet the needs of students without previous experience in the study of education who seek teacher certification and those with initial certification in art education who seek professional certification.
