There is a voice inside of you / That whispers all day long, / "I feel that it is right for me. / I know that this is wrong." / No teacher, preacher, parent, friend, / or wise man can decide. / What's right for you, just listen to / That voice that speaks inside.
~Shel Silverstein

Lyrics for Change: A Read In/Write Out Event is a workshop for students in grades 6-8. The workshop provides students with opportunities to critically read/listen to lyrics regarding social and political change.  After students rhythmically-explore artists' lyrics, youth are encouraged to write their own unique, freestyle lyrics.
