Syracuse University's Reading and Language Arts Center is a close-knit community energized by a collective commitment to addressing and enhancing literacy and learning for children, youth, and adults in schools and communities.

The Center is nationally recognized for its role in preparing:

• classroom teachers
• literacy specialists
• curriculum and test designers
• administrators
• researchers, and
• college professors.

The Center offers students the opportunity to develop expertise in literacy, English, college learning strategies, English as a second language, children's and adolescent literature, assessment, and technology.

Highly skilled and supportive host teachers and supervisors in school districts in the Central New York region provide exceptional field placement opportunities to the Center’s students.
