Completed doctorate at The Ohio State University in Physical Education Teacher Education and Adapted Physical Education (August 2013). Research topic was “Exploring the beliefs African-American parents and their preschool children ascribe toward physical activity”. The focus of this research targets understanding routines in Head Start preschool families and how these routines have the potential for engagement in physical activity on a daily basis.

My hobbies and are following my youngest daughter in her sporting activities (track and soccer), meeting people and learning about their culture, outdoor activities (i.e., canoeing, camping, and walking in the woods), being physically active by swimming and participating in variety of multisport activities (i.e., marathons and triathlons).
